Project Scope

Our client developing a new manual for an internal investment/real estate team. The first draft content has been developed to publish by end of year. Most of the content is technical in nature (value streams, process maps, interaction diagrams, etc.), but our client needs support in polishing and refining the content. This project will also include further development of additional training manuals, SOP's and operating guidelines.

The primary deliverable is the process models and sub-processes. These will be Visio diagrams created using BPMN templates. Our client needs a consultant with experience using the BPMN model, and understanding the methodology associated.

Position Requirements


  • Work with IT and business partners to understand work functions and end-to-end processes.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures with emphasis on information security best practices, at the same time ensuring the requirements of PCI, HIPAA and CCPA are met.
  • Coordinate the review and approval of the policies and procedures with stakeholders.

Process Improvement

  • Coordinate, analyze, and correlate input from multiple sources. Where applicable, recommend areas for improvement to meet the requirements of the policies and procedures.
  • Work with IT and business partners to obtain buy-in, lead and manage improvements.


  • Develop training content, job aids, and other educational material.
  • Respond to user queries on policies and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in an IT environment, preferably with companies in regulated industries.
  • Certification, knowledge or experience in ISO 27000 series, NIST 800 series, or COBIT.
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS, HIPAA Security and Privacy Rule, California Privacy Laws.
  • Good understanding of cloud environment and Agile.
  • Demonstrated experience with organizing, writing, editing and publishing operational and instructional documentation that is easy to understand.
  • With little to no guidance, manage and lead multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently and with other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
