Job Description


Our client has an immediate opportunity available for an Intermodal Terminal Manager. You will be responsible for terminal management including dispatch, warehouse and truck operations. We are looking for candidates who have extensive experience recruiting drivers and managing vendors.

Essential Functions, Job Duties, and Responsibilities:
  • Manages day-to-day operation activities at the terminal
  • Monitors existing processes and policies and works up new processes to improve efficiency
  • Strategizes to improve productivity
  • Directs and manages terminal staff, Customer Service, Dispatchers, and Billing / Payment / Safety Auditors at the terminal level
  • Hires and manages staff to ensure accuracy, accountability, and profitability
  • Trains current and new employees
  • Schedules, rewards, and disciplines employees
  • Produces and analyzes reports as needed
  • Responsible for the growth and revenue of the business at the terminal
  • Utilizes fast and effective problem-solving abilities within the terminal and for over-the-road drivers to keep company running smoothly and to prevent issues from recurring
  • Oversees daily dispatch planning
  • Makes difficult, fast, and effective decisions
  • Leads staff to ensure satisfactory levels or service, communication, documentation, and accurate invoicing to customers
  • Manages daily capacity in order to service customers and routinely accommodate new traffic to ensure healthy growth trend for the terminal
  • Actively supports new business/customers to achieve established sales terminal goals for growth
  • Leads in driver recruiting, driver orientation, and driver retention
  • Determines work load to see if new hires are needed
  • Acts as back-up for operations staff
  • Performs all other duties or projects as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
