Job Description:

You will be managing the day-to-day operational aspects of testing for multiple applications of varying complexity, including but not limited to:

  • Leading a team of direct, offshore, and "dotted line" testing resources in a centralized testing organization
  • experience Implementing testing programs
  • Creating and supervising the production of multiple metrics packages and reports designed to demonstrate testing effectiveness and efficiency, including executive and operational views
  • Coordinating various testing phases, including system, integration, regression, user acceptance
  • Leading resources providing non-functional specialty testing skills, including mobile testing, performance testing, cross browser testing
  • Providing strong leadership to automation testing teams, including test suite design, coverage priorities, and automation framework development objectives that add value to the testing program, and Integrating test automation into existing applications and the development lifecycle
  • Working in an agile scrum environment and participates in sprint planning, story grooming, daily scrums, and is a critical team member for successful sprint delivery
  • Working with multiple scrum teams and providing direction and mentoring to other QA analysts
  • Managing testing capacity as a part of multiple business teams and plan for resource needs longer term
  • Providing technical input to assist in development of project and program level estimating and planning
  • Consulting with the business units, information technology colleagues, and vendors to translate functional and nonfunctional requirements into executable tests of developed code
  • Creating and executing test plans, test scenarios, test cases and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications
  • Analyzing formal test results and reports any defects, bugs and configuration issues
  • Ensuring that testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues
  • Creating reports and communicates to show sprint level and release level summary of testing progress, results and other relevant information to stakeholders
  • Creating and ensuring best practices across all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Developing and promoting system testing processes, procedures and best practices.
  • Contributing to information technology projects and initiatives helping aid project teams in the understanding and use of information technology standards and procedures.
  • Contributing to the implementation and maintenance of an effective automation framework process and achieves results through acknowledged technical ability and leading of team members

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. Relevant work experience may substitute for a degree, particularly when combined with graduation from a technical or junior college, or partial university attendance
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of software testing management experience
  • Must have the ability to implement testing programs
  • Proficient understanding of software testing concepts, processes, methodologies, and tools
  • Proficient understanding of multiple business disciplines or functions (actuarial, finance, underwriting, etc.), preferably in a property & casualty insurance or financial services setting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals
  • Proficiency in multiple project management tools: Microsoft Project, TFS and Eclipse preferred
  • This position requires the ability to function effectively with only minimal supervision
  • Proficient with onshore/offshore model of testing/development

You should have:

  • Direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing
  • Direct experience as a lead tester for major application integration and/or major application product release
  • Experience working as Test Lead in Agile Scrum environment
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
  • Experience with core software applications, including Guidewire ClaimCenter, Policy Center, Billing Center and/or SQL
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts
  • Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with statistical reporting and analysis
  • Good project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures
  • Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
