Job Description

Excellent opportunity available for a Union Payroll Specialist located in the Monmouth County NJ area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience processing union payroll with some light accounting knowledge. Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurately processing of union and non-union weekly payrolls, including hourly and salaried employees
  • Documenting and maintaining payroll procedures
  • Researching and resolving payroll and payroll tax-related issues
  • Handling monthly and quarterly internal reporting, as well as ad-hoc reports
  • Preparing accruals and reconciling monthly and annual activity for payroll
  • Assisting with quarterly and year-end processing
  • Handling light accounting work which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting/assistance for the finance department

Position Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's (preferred) degree with emphasis in business or accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Union payroll experience a must
  • Proficiency with Payroll and HRIS software
  • Deep understanding of multistate payrolls and wage laws
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills
  • Advanced MS Excel (pivots, v-look ups, advanced formula's)
  • High level of discretion, able to handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately
