Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced and energetic Vice President of Human Resources who will drive organizational change and lead the implementation of human resources strategies across brands in support of overall business goals. The VP of Human Resources serves as a culture champion and will work with senior leadership to ensure they are maintaining a company culture that allows employees to thrive and do their best work.

This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and will have a seat at the leadership table. The Vice President of Human Resources directly manages a small team of human resources professionals at the corporate headquarters with indirect leadership responsibility for associates tasked with human resources duties across the other offices.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partners closely with the CEO and leadership team to provide coaching, consulting, and mentoring to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Proactively contributes to the success of company's goals and objectives. Aligns business strategy with human resources strategic initiatives to drive results and outcomes to grow the business.
  • Leads the effort to establish and implement human resources strategic priorities and focus for the business (i.e. talent acquisition, on-boarding, talent management, metrics, etc.)
  • Evaluates and upgrades (as needed) the talent requirements and changing business needs to proactively manage "future state" talent development to deliver against business objectives and growth.
  • Leads, manages and develops human resources disciplines to ensure business impact is achieved.
  • Champions business needs and issue resolution in compensation, benefits, payroll, talent acquisition, talent management, communications, labor relations, etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Human Resources, or related area. MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of strong generalist human resources experience across all functional disciplines with increasing levels of responsibility; at least five years of experience in managing a team of human resources professionals
  • Experience in retail, consumer goods or beverage industries is preferred
  • Multi-unit experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop human resources talent
  • Ability to use business data to drive change, participate and drive strategic discussions, influence outcomes, and lead changes in behaviors to drive business growth
  • Strong communication skills: oral, written, presentation, and influencing, plus the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Results-oriented professional who can make a difference; an individual who takes initiative, makes things happen, accepts accountability, has a "can do" attitude, and a sense of urgency
  • Creative and flexible in attitude and style to adapt to new situations in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment
