Vaco Technology is assisting one of our clients, on the north side of Indianapolis, in their search for a full-time Vice President of Product Development. This position is responsible for leading the development and design for a variety of our clients projects. This role will involve managing a team of Development and QA team members who will be creating and delivering product enhancements. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the continuous improvement of the product as well as driving Business Development opportunities.


  • Prioritize and plan projects to successful completion.
  • Produce incremental products meeting goals for time, cost and quality.
  • Lead and collaborate cross functional teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
  • Embrace/adopt Agile processes and tailor frameworks and methods.
  • Develop and Implement new processes and procedures to insure a high level of customer success and consistency across the delivery organization.
  • Analyze existing operations, systems, and performance metrics to identify and prioritize high value improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office to ensure projects technical requirements are documented, managed, and maintained.
  • Publish timely metrics and dashboards to report status accurately to all stakeholders and Senior Leadership.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across project implementation.


  • Masters degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification in Project Management or Insurance domain learning is a plus but not required.
  • Experience leading development on enterprise applications, web applications, working with Services Orientated Architectures (SOA).
  • Lead senior technical teams, design and development teams and QA Testing teams.
  • Ability to develop solution architecture designs.
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure including servers, storage, firewalls, load balancers, routers, etc.
  • Agile Practitioner, with proven experience implementing processes and frameworks for delivery of web and mobile product-based solutions.
  • Significant experience and familiarity with end user support management, service level management, contract management, compliance, financial management, scope management, customer service and executive level communication
  • Experience on Life Policy Admin Systems and Life Insurance principles
  • Good understanding of working in JAVA and/or COBOL and/or .net stack
  • Architecture level understanding of policy administration system is preferred but not required
  • Ability to manage compliance with PII data security, SOX and Security audit standards, and Corporate data privacy standards
  • Ability to work with source control and automation tools, SVN, Github, Jenkins, build management and QA Test automation software
  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time which will mostly be domestic with occasional international travel


  • This is a full-time opportunity with a salary range between $150 and $175K, plus bonus.
