Job Description

As the Controller, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the Company's accounting function, which will include preparing regular financial statements for various constituencies, managing the accounts payable function, assisting with treasury functions, and ensuring appropriate internal control processes

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
1. Finance and accounting experience in a heavy-duty industrial sales and service business, with multiple-locations in multiple states.
2. Experience in strategic planning and execution.
3. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
4. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
5. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems, specifically deep experience with Great Plains.
6. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations (Texas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, and New Mexico).
7. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
8. Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
10. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
11. Willingness to work a flexible schedule and demonstrated ability to work stress resistant even under ongoing requirements of fulfilling critical deadlines
12. Demonstrated ability to manage and implement programs to reduce working capital for a similarly-sized business
13. Ability to influence and participate as part of the division management team and to serve as an innovative sounding board for other members of the team
14. Demonstrated strong analytical capability to understand the inter-relationships between sales, operating and cost data, and balance sheet to identify operational problems, and to analyze variances from planned results

Education and Certifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • CPA/CMA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in a senior-level finance position with a business that sells and services heavy-duty industrial or similar equipment and with locations across multiple states
