Job Description

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager leads, plans, organizes and monitors the shipping, receiving and staging center, ensuring efficient and accurate flow of inventory and technical production. The Manager coordinates with Engineering to maintain consistent staging production bids while achieving target margins and supporting sales with contract negotiations. Additionally, the Manager coordinates with the finance team to ensure proper budget control and management. Key responsibilities include cost efficiency, inventory management, continuous improvement and service. This position is responsible for coaching, motivating, and leading warehouse employees to accomplish the company set goals safely and establishing a culture of positive employee relations while ensuring all processes, best practices, and policies are adhered to consistently.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the daily operations of the Warehouse Department and provide guidance and support to staging and warehouse staff.
  • Optimize resource efficiency by utilizing existing resources to their fullest effective capacity.
  • Develop and implement operational metrics and annual objectives to track efficiencies and make appropriate recommendations to leadership.
  • Act as the internal liaison for the Logistics Center with the engineering teams; first point of contact for new customers and/or new rollouts for existing customers to establish processes and protocols for the Logistics Center team
  • Balance Logistics Center goals with other departmental goals to insure objectives are met.
  • Drive a culture of accountability by conducting safety, quality and productivity assessments, enforcing standards, providing appropriate feedback to employees and complying with legal regulations.
  • Work with the Project Management team to maintain and develop the most effective tools for communicating scheduling and production requirements.
  • Develop and implement appropriate time tables to predict time and space requirements for staging and inventory control.
  • Develop and implement warehouse operations system improvements by leading continuous improvement projects, collaborating with IT, and analyzing process workflow, manning, and space requirements.
  • Consult with Finance team to maintain or exceed cost and expense management expectations.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal departments to understand their objectives while fully utilizing and communicating the Logistics Center's capabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Business Management/Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Materials Management, or related degrees
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse/distribution experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Manufacturing/Lean Management experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create processes and procedures
  • Proactive technical and procedural trouble shooting skills.
  • Symantec Ghost (other imaging software) experience
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet, inventory management systems and the aptitude to learn any platform.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships, understand and educate internal and external customers. Demonstrates the proper behavior, communication and interaction to meet internal and external customer needs and concerns. Respond to customer inquiries completely and promptly.
  • Knowledge of Networking, 4G LTE, Cisco, Adtran, Fortinet, (switches, routers, AP's) Windows OS (DOS, XP, vista, 7, 8) UNIX, Apple, Computer Hardware and Peripherals,
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to managers across all levels, employees, customers, and vendors in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
