Job Description

Responsible for ordering stock and non-stock operating supplies. This includes researching products, clarifying specifications, following up backorders, maintaining up-to-date product information files. Oversee the daily activities of shipments, production, billing, invoicing, customer contact and material storage.

Key Accountabilities
  • Detailed descriptions of the essential functions for the position. Describe the daily responsibilities, as well as project work that may be performed regularly. If other work outside of the scope of essential functions is assigned, indicate that other work will be performed as required.
  • Schedules department personnel and approves vacations, leaves of absence, etc. Manages productivity and monitors shift performance. Helps employees as necessary, either by phone or in person, 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Maintains and continuously improves job and safety training to ensure desired performance of department personnel
  • Assures that equipment and fixtures are maintained in good working order. Reports problems and or requests needed repairs to Maintenance. Coordinates with Maintenance, Vendors and logistics personnel to maintain preventive maintenance programs on key equipment.
  • Works closely with all departments to maintain optimal service to internal customers. Generates solutions to issues and follows up to ensure their effectiveness.
  • Maintains inventory integrity.
  • Coordinates the movement of returns and defective finished goods with Quality Control while maintaining parallel documentation for accuracy of quality hold product.
  • Manages the monthly Third-Party Warehousing (TPW) invoicing process.
  • Manages application of General Ledger (GL) codes for shipments processed through UPS, FedEx or third-party provider.
  • Controls inventory management and ordering of key components such as resin, cores, corrugated, etc.
  • Participates in the budgeting process. Responsible for cost centers under their control.
  • Executes company personnel policies and procedures and works with Human Resource personnel as needed to effectively resolve employee problems, conflicts, etc. Directs department activities with utmost regard for employee health and safety
  • Performs other related work as required.

Food Safety Accountability
  • All employees are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those that can initiate action.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing the training needs of the organization's Logistics employees to ensure they have the required competencies to carry out those functions affecting product, legality, safety, and quality shall be defined and documented.

  • High school education or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in relevant management role in manufacturing organization
