Job Description

Currently seeking qualified applicants for a Web Systems Support Engineer position. In this role, candidate will provide third level environment support of web sites, APIs, services and systems. This includes both Linux systems, public cloud and private cloud. A Web Systems Engineer is responsible for deploying code, implementing new infrastructure and new technologies, developing alerting and alarming solutions, and 24x7 environment monitoring and support to ensure optimum performance, availability, and security of the front-end and middleware environment. Advanced system administration tools will be utilized.

Tech stack: AWS, OpenShift (Kubernetes), Helm, Jenkins, Java, JavaScript, Python, Terraform and more!

Responsibilities
* Providing advanced application support for the resolution of highly complex technical problems
* Collaborating with enterprise partners on issues and initiatives that impact the infrastructure
* Ensures developers, testers, and business partners receive a world-class support beyond their expectations
* Owns the technical support for the lower-level environments; collaborates with developers to proactively address weaknesses and opportunities
* Tracks issues, ensures resolution at the appropriate level. Troubleshoots and resolves system service issues and OS level issues. Receives and resolves issues escalated from developers, testers and business partners
* Provide training and direction to less experienced web support engineers and staff
* Help to scale the infrastructure to keep up with the company's incredible growth

Requirements
* Ability to quickly triage an active web systems issue and identify a root-cause (from browser to server)
* Web application installations, upgrades, and deployment experience
* Experience with servers or systems that support/host web applications
* Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders and development teams
* Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
* Ability to communicate confidentially and professionally
* Advanced scripting skills specifically around automation, log rotation, data collection, error collection and alerting
* 2+ years of web systems engineering experience
* 4+ years of Python or Shell experience
* 4+ years of Web Services experience

Nice to Have
* Experience with scaling up infrastructure and process quickly
* Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins knowledge

* Ability to work on call as assigned
* Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
