Workday Financials Functional Consultant (Contract-to-Hire)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Consultant to provide subject matter expertise in accounting and financial reporting processes. This role will play a key part in designing, configuring, and optimizing Workday Financials solutions across multiple business areas, ensuring seamless integrations and alignment with organizational objectives.
Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert in business processes related to accounting and financial reporting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inter-company, consolidations, asset accounting, and cost accounting.

Lead detailed functional design, configuration, and integration of Workday Financials modules.

Collaborate with business groups to prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues and enhancements in a timely manner.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify business process and Workday system integration requirements (e.g., HR/Payroll, procurement, banks, suppliers).

Ensure consistency of processes, communication, and best practices across business and technical teams.

Act as the primary liaison with external technical support and managed service providers.
Required Skills and Experience

10 years of experience in the IT industry.

4 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting process analysis and detailed Workday Financials design and configuration, including global implementation experience.

3 years of experience leading full Workday Financials implementation projects (from requirements gathering through go-live).

Proven expertise in Workday functional design across financial modules such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, inter-company, consolidations, asset accounting, cost accounting, and currency management.

Strong understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

Hands-on experience with Workday system integrations and Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).

Familiarity with integration technologies such as REST APIs, Web Services, and SOAP.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning or related financial planning tools.
