Our client is a Canadian-owned and operated insurer. They are looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join their team!

- Monthly uploads and reconciliation of premium payments based on receipts for both internal and third-party arrangements
- Investigation of outstanding premiums and associated variances
- Monthly financial reporting related to premiums, claims and other key areas
- Monthly Bank reconciliation and maintenance of age receivables
- Assist in the development of the year-end financial statements
- Actively help in the financial reporting system changes and revise operational procedures
- Prepare and pay the monthly and quarterly provincial premium taxes
- Assist in the preparation of the financial packages for the Board and ancillary reporting
- Assisting with year-end audit and provide support for PBC listings to auditors
- Assisting with compiling of quarter end reporting and financials
- Quarterly compilation of survey data for government reporting
- Assist in ad-hoc analysis for the CFO and Director Finance
- Knowledge of process mapping and drafting narratives
- Ability to complete and post Journal Entries
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and technology skills
- At least 5 years’ insurance experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and IFRS 17 reporting
- Certification such as certified public accountant (CPA, CA, CPA, CMA or CPA, CGA)
- Nice to have tax reporting and compliance experience and Business Central
- Meticulous attention to detail and takes a proactive approach to business changes
- Hands-on experience reviewing and investigating data from third party partners and ensuring data accuracy for financial reporting
- Ability to cope with tight timelines, and work through volumes of data to deliver accurate financial reporting
- Collaborative worker who can readily multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks
$105,000 - $115,000 / year
