Cash Applications Specialist POST NUMBER: 461724
What You’ll Do:
• Apply daily customer payments (ACH, wires, checks, credit cards) to open invoices within established timeframes
• Review and reconcile remittance advice against service contracts and recurring billing schedules
• Maintain daily cash receipt logs and deposit summaries for audit and reconciliation
• Investigate unapplied cash, short pays, and payment discrepancies in collaboration with Collections and Billing
• Communicate with customers to obtain remittance details or resolve payment application issues
• Research and resolve unidentified cash, duplicate payments, and misapplied funds
• Support month-end close through reconciliations and preparation of related reports
• Partner with Collections to validate and apply payments received through collection efforts
• Coordinate with Billing to ensure accurate invoicing and alignment with remittance details
• Prepare and distribute daily cash posting reports and cash application metrics
• Maintain clear, organized documentation to support audits and compliance requirements
• Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce unapplied cash and increase automation
Requirements
• High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2 years of experience in Cash Applications or Accounts Receivable (service-based environment preferred)
• Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite is required) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a customer service–focused approach
• Ability to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to resolving issues
• Experience with subscription billing or service contracts a plus
• Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceTrade, or ProScope
• Understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue concepts
