Controller
Position OverviewOur well-known global client is seeking a Controller to add to the team. The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role manages the daily accounting functions, strengthens internal controls, oversees cost accounting and inventory processes, and provides financial visibility that drives operational performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support executive leadership and operational teams.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors as needed.
- Lead all cost accounting functions, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and margin reporting.
- Partner with operations to improve cost accuracy, production reporting, and inventory procedures.
- Analyze manufacturing inefficiencies and cost drivers to support pricing and production decisions.
- Enhance and maintain internal controls over financial transactions and reporting.
- Implement streamlined processes, automation, and best practices to strengthen accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate closely with supply chain, production, and engineering teams to support business planning and operational initiatives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to management, translating financial insights into actionable recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing workflows.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and communicate effectively across departments.
