Title: Purchasing Assistant 
Position Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $25-$26/HR 
Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday

The Purchasing Assistant will support the Purchasing Manager in coordinating activities involved with procuring materials, equipment and supplies for the operation. This position will communicate with various vendors to obtain product and service information, process orders, and work alongside the Accounts Payable team for invoice processing.

Responsibilities:
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as, pricing, availability, delivery schedules, etc.
• Research additional product or service alternatives when necessary.
• Process and track purchase orders, including costs, delivery, and vendors’ information.
• Maintain files, documentation, and databases in accordance with company practices.
Serves as point of contact for reporting and following up with the field management team on order status.
• Create and maintain order forms for record keeping.
• Function as liaison between Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments to assist with invoice processing
• Maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Performs and completes special projects as assigned by department manager.

Qualifications and Competencies:
• Minimum High school diploma or GED required. College degree preferred or work-related experience.
• 1-2 years of prior experience in procurement and purchasing role is highly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Suite systems is required.
• Strong analytical mindset – ability to analyze and interpret data to draw accurate conclusions, prioritize work, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Strong project management skillset – ability to lead the planning and executions of complex projects requiring coordination of work across multiple departments.
• Must be highly organized with great attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
• Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise positively with all levels of management and field teams.
• Able to work with a sense of urgency and work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to work independently, self-starter, energetic.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet projects/deadlines.
• Professionalism and discretion along with excellent prioritization skills
