Assistant Fund Controller – Private Real Estate
Location: New York, NY (Headquarters)
Compensation: $110,000 – $135,000 base 30-35% bonus

We are looking for a forward-thinking finance professional who pair's technical accounting rigor with a passion for process innovation and automation. As an Assistant Fund Controller, you won’t just be managing books; you will be an integral part of a collaborative business team, driving operational efficiency across a diverse portfolio of comingled funds and separate accounts.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Oversight: Take full ownership of assigned fund structures (including Master/Feeder and Blocker entities), managing the end-to-end reporting cycle in coordination with external Fund Administrators.

Business Partnership: Work directly with the Chicago-based Investment Team to support acquisitions, dispositions, and complex financing arrangements.

Performance & Analytics: Calculate and analyze key fund metrics including IRRs, investment multiples, and time-weighted returns to provide actionable insights for leadership.

Treasury & Capital Management: Oversee cash liquidity, capital call/distribution processes, and the management of sophisticated loan facilities and compliance monitoring.

Digital Transformation: Identify opportunities for process improvement by leveraging AI tools and data automation to mitigate risk and enhance reporting speed.
Qualifications: -
Experience: 4–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or fund administration. A foundational background in Big 4 Public Accounting is highly preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or progress toward a CPA is an advantage.

The "Tech-Forward" Edge: You are comfortable beyond Excel. Familiarity with (or a strong desire to utilize) Python, SQL, or AI tools to automate workflows is a significant plus.
