Head of Accounting POST NUMBER: 465200
Role: Head of Accounting
Salary: $200,000 - $225,000/annually Equity
Location: *Fully Remote*
Job Description:
The Mission We are looking for a "builder-leader" to serve as our first dedicated Finance lead. This isn’t a back-office maintenance role; you are the architect. You will build our financial engine from first principles, transforming raw data into the strategic insights that will fuel our global growth.
The Role You’ll be senior enough to design the roadmap and pragmatic enough to execute the details. You thrive in the "zero-to-one" phase, creating the systems, processes, and guardrails that allow a high-velocity team to move even faster. You see finance not as a cost center, but as a strategic enabler of execution.
What You’ll Own
-
The Foundation: Architect and own the entire finance stack (e.g., NetSuite/QuickBooks, Ramp, Payroll). If it involves money moving in or out, you own the process.
-
The Close: Lead month-end close and reporting across all entities. You’ll partner with external accountants to ensure our books are airtight and compliant.
-
The Runway: Manage cash flow, forecasting, and treasury. You provide the "single source of truth" regarding performance and capital strategy.
-
The Insights: Build the dashboards that matter. You’ll translate complex data into actionable metrics that the leadership team uses to make critical decisions.
-
Global Compliance: Navigate the complexities of U.S. and European operations, coordinating with advisors to stay ahead of tax and statutory requirements.
Who You Are
-
Experienced: 6 years in finance/accounting, ideally a mix of "Big 4" rigor and "startup" agility.
-
Technical: A master of U.S. GAAP (IFRS knowledge is a major plus).
-
A Systems Thinker: You don’t just fix problems; you build automated systems so the problem never returns.
-
Autonomous: You are comfortable in a distributed environment. You don't need a manual; you write it.
-
Low Ego, High Impact: You value precision and speed equally. You’re happy to dive into a spreadsheet one hour and a board deck the next.
