Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations during a high-volume or transitional period. This contract role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing using ADP, SAP, and SAP SuccessFactors for a multi-state employee population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll on a weekly/bi-weekly basis using ADP

  • Maintain and update employee payroll data in SAP and SAP SuccessFactors

  • Audit payroll transactions for accuracy, including wages, bonuses, deductions, garnishments, and taxes

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations

  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to address payroll-related questions and issues

  • Support payroll-related reporting, audits, and year-end activities (W-2s, quarter-end filings)

  • Assist with system updates, integrations, testing, or process improvements as needed

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality

Qualifications

  • 3 years of hands-on payroll experience in a corporate or shared services environment

  • Strong working knowledge of ADP payroll systems (Workforce Now, Vantage, or similar)

  • Experience using SAP and SAP SuccessFactors for HRIS and payroll data management

  • Multi-state payroll experience required

  • Solid understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Strong Excel skills and experience with payroll reporting

  • Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced, contract-based environment

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
