About the Role
Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Real Estate Paralegal to join the firm’s dynamic team. This role is central to their real estate practice, requiring a professional who excels at managing the lifecycle of a transaction—from initial title and zoning research to the final handshake at closing.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains a sharp eye for compliance, and isn't afraid to dive into complex research projects across various offices and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue & Time Management: Meet billable hour expectations by proactively securing work and maintaining meticulous, daily time logs in accordance with firm and outside counsel guidelines.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive title, zoning, and survey research; manage and coordinate the review process for these critical documents.
- Closing Coordination: Lead real estate closings, including the preparation of closing binders and the resolution of all post-closing matters.
- File Lifecycle Management: Ensure strict adherence to the firm’s Client File Maintenance policy. This includes managing both electronic and hardcopy files, barcoding, and ensuring timely file closure.
- Strategic Projects: Contribute to firm-sanctioned non-billable projects, including pro bono initiatives and special projects as assigned.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Real Estate paralegal or related business experience.
- Big law experience highly preferred
- Experience coordinating work for case clerks or junior paralegals is a plus.
- Education: High school diploma required; College degree preferred. A Paralegal certificate (NALA or State-specific) is highly encouraged.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases. You should have intermediate knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Rules.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, diplomacy, and the ability to remain calm and productive under high-pressure deadlines.
