Role: Senior Accountant (Part-Time) - ~20 hours a week - *Could increase depending on workload*
Pay Rate: $45/hr - $55/hr
Location: Manhattan, NY - (Union Square) - Hybrid
Job Description:
As a Senior Accountant, your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy of our financial records while providing critical insights into our operational spending.
Month-End Close & Reporting

Drive and assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial deadlines are met with high accuracy.

Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded correctly.
Balance Sheet Integrity

Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations for key accounts, including:

Prepaid Expenses: Tracking amortization schedules and ensuring proper timing of recognition.

Accrued Expenses: Working with departments to capture all unbilled liabilities.

Sales Tax Payable: Managing monthly/quarterly filings and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.

Financial Analysis & Flux Evaluation

Conduct Flux Analysis to evaluate month-over-month (MoM) swings in Operating Expenses (OPEX).

Identify and investigate significant variances, providing clear explanations to leadership.

Proactively identify areas in need of accruals to ensure the "matching principle" is strictly followed.
Treasury & Ad Hoc Support

Provide ad hoc assistance with bank reconciliations, ensuring cash positions are accurately reflected and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Support audit requests and contribute to special projects as the finance team scales.
