Location: Jacksonville, FL
Compensation: $98-$105.5/Annually
The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for accounting, analysis, and reporting related to a large property, plant, and equipment (PP&E) portfolio. This role supports the preparation of intermediate to complex journal entries, account reconciliations, asset rollforwards, financial analytics, and compliance with internal controls. Responsibilities also include providing supporting schedules and disclosures for external reporting.
This position partners with various levels of finance leadership, as well as operations and support teams, to gather information necessary to fulfill reporting and accounting requirements. Additional responsibilities include participating in ad hoc projects that support growth initiatives, system enhancements, and process improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and upload monthly journal entries (intermediate to complex), rollforwards, and analytics
- Complete assigned balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Research and document accounting conclusions for complex or non-routine transactions
- Serve as a point of contact for designated accounting areas and provide guidance to internal stakeholders
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial and regulatory reporting
- Ensure compliance with SOX controls and support audit requests
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from an accredited institution
- 3 years of accounting experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Public accounting experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle)
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting accounting functions during system modernization initiatives
- Familiarity with general ledger and subledger systems
- Knowledge of fixed asset accounting systems
- Understanding of SOX compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
