Interim Senior Property Accountant POST NUMBER: 472242
Our client, a national real estate investment company, is seeking an Interim Senior Property Accountant to assist during a period of increased workload.
The position may be performed fully remote or hybrid in San Francisco, CA, depending on the candidate's preference.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing property?level cash analysis and review expenditure activity
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to property accounting matters
- Verify vendor information and support payment?related workflows
- Record accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP and prepare month?end journal entries
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, maintain general ledger schedules, and support monthly close processes
- Assist with fee calculations, debt?related payments, and the preparation of supporting schedules
- Collaborate with asset management on reporting needs, including lender requests and draw submissions
- Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles, including financial statements, audit support, and tax packages
- Assist with ad hoc analysis for acquisitions, dispositions, and other portfolio initiatives
- Review and interpret legal agreements as needed for accounting treatment
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and control expectations
- Participate in miscellaneous projects and provide support to accounting leadership as required
Requirements:
- Experience as a Senior?level Property Accountant within commercial real estate
- Strong understanding of property?level accounting, close cycles, and financial reporting
- Experience with real estate accounting systems (any major platform acceptable)
- Ability to manage multiple properties and work independently in a fast?paced environment
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
