Senior Financial Analyst – 6 Month Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial support to our sales organization within a manufacturing environment. This role combines traditional financial analysis with deep manufacturing knowledge, focusing on sales performance metrics, product costing, and operational insights that drive business decisions.
About the Opportunity
Sales Financial Support
- Partner with sales leadership to analyze performance against budgets and forecasts
- Develop and maintain sales KPI dashboards and regular reporting
- Conduct variance analysis on sales results by product line, region, and customer segment
- Support pricing decisions through margin analysis and competitive assessments
- Prepare monthly and quarterly business reviews for sales leadership
- Maintain and analyze standard costs for all manufactured products
- Perform detailed variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) to identify operational improvements
- Support bill of materials (BOM) accuracy and cost roll-up processes
- Collaborate with operations teams on cost reduction initiatives
- Monitor manufacturing efficiency metrics and report on trends
- Lead annual budgeting process for sales and manufacturing cost centers
- Prepare rolling forecasts incorporating sales pipeline and production capacity
- Analyze customer profitability and product margins
- Support investment analysis for new products and manufacturing equipment
- Develop financial models for scenario planning and business case development
- Work closely with sales, operations, and supply chain teams
- Translate financial data into actionable business insights
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Assist with external reporting requirements and audit support
About You
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3-5 years of financial analysis experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong understanding of standard costing principles and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Excellent communication skills for presenting to non-finance stakeholders
- CPA designation or progress toward certification
- Manufacturing or operations experience
- Experience supporting sales teams or revenue analysis
- Knowledge of inventory valuation methods
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail with ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong business acumen and operational understanding
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset for cross-functional partnerships
