A manufacturer in the Valley is looking for a Director of Accounting to join their team. In this Director of Accounting role, the candidate will be responsible for cost and inventory accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations. What do you need for this Director of Accounting role?
- Bachelor’s of Accounting or related field
- 10 years of accounting experience
- MUST have cost and/or inventory accounting experience
- Advanced Excel
- Support the execution of monthly and annual close cycles
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
- Maintain accuracy and compliance of financial statements
- Assist with external audit processes
- Manage cost accounting such as standard costing and variance tracking
- Oversee inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- Evaluate manufacturing costs, including labor utilization and overhead allocation
- Assess production metrics like yield, waste, and variances
- Ensure inventory counts and cycle count procedures are performed
- Perform analysis on profitability, operational performance, and cost fluctuations
- Assist in evaluating capital investments and analyzing expected returns.
- Recommend efficiencies and opportunities for reducing costs and improving processes
- Uphold effective internal controls related to financial reporting and inventory management
- Ensure adherence to company policies
- Provide support for industry-specific compliance reporting
- Strong leaders in the company
