Title: Controller
Salary: $110,000 - $125,000
Location: Warrendale, PA
A niche manufacturing organization is seeking a Financial Controller to serve as the lead finance and accounting professional for a well-established operating company. This person will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, manage a small accounting team, and partner closely with leadership on financial reporting, controls, cash flow, forecasting, and overall financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance/accounting leader within the organization
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and proper accounting treatment of all transactions
- Manage and mentor a small accounting/clerical team, including delegation of responsibilities and oversight of workflow
- Oversee accounts payable, including invoice approval, payment scheduling, vendor management, and sales/use tax filings across multiple states
- Oversee accounts receivable, including billing review, aged receivables, collections, and bad debt follow-up
- Maintain and strengthen banking relationships, support line of credit requirements, prepare monthly borrowing base reporting, and forecast/manage cash flow
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, review of staff entries, balance sheet reconciliations, monthly financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and covenant tracking
- Coordinate with external auditors and support annual review/audit activities across multiple entities
- Manage corporate tax filings and related state tax matters
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Maintain and refine the chart of accounts in alignment with business needs and evolving company structure
- Support inventory tracking, annual usage reporting, and related purchasing/invoicing review
- Partner with leadership on annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow planning, income projections, and related financial analysis
- Review all financial deliverables for accuracy and provide supporting schedules or commentary as needed
- Assist with additional financial and operational projects on an as-needed basis
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of accounting experience
- 3–5 years in a financial management role within an operating company preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with NetSuite or Microsoft Business Central is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Bachelor’s degree required
