Purchasing/Procurement Manager POST NUMBER: 477615
Our client, a mission-driven organization with multiple operating locations, is seeking an interim Procurement/Purchasing Manager to lead and coordinate all procurement activities across the organization.
This position follows a primarily onsite or hybrid work schedule in their offices in Novato, CA. This engagement is expected to last 3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of procurement for materials, supplies, and services across multiple locations
- Lead procurement initiatives focused on cost reduction, supplier optimization, and value analysis
- Develop, implement, and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and authorization workflows
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Act as a procurement resource for internal stakeholders to support pricing, quality, and delivery objectives
- Develop and maintain purchasing specifications based on functional and operational requirements
- Facilitate purchase requirements and the generation of appropriate purchasing documentation
- Collaborate with group purchasing organizations or strategic sourcing partners as applicable
- Prepare procurement reports and perform detailed analysis of purchasing activity and spend
- Maintain vendor evaluation programs and report on delivery performance, quality, and responsiveness
- Develop, monitor, and manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits
- Identify, document, and implement continuous improvement opportunities across procurement operations
- Educate and support staff on purchasing protocols and best practices
- Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and proper approval of procurement activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and purchasing controls
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
