Location: Broward County, FL
Vaco is partnering with a growing manufacturing organization seeking a hands-on Production Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations within a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. This leader will be responsible for driving operational performance, process improvement, team development, and production efficiency across multiple manufacturing functions.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Leadership
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure quality, efficiency, safety, and delivery goals are consistently achieved
- Manage production scheduling, workflow optimization, labor allocation, and operational throughput in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Monitor inventory controls, production metrics, and operational reporting to support business objectives
- Ensure internal and external customer expectations are met through timely, high-quality output
- Support quality management initiatives, compliance standards, and corrective action processes
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Warehouse, and other operational teams
- Support manufacturing process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies
- Assist with product launches, pilot production, and transition into full-scale manufacturing
- Oversee facility operations, equipment uptime, preventative maintenance, and workplace safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety and operational standards
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on operational excellence and efficiency
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, visual management, and standard work practices
- Develop and maintain KPI tracking, production metrics, and operational dashboards
- Drive process optimization initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Lead, mentor, and develop production and operational teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Support organizational change initiatives and encourage employee engagement throughout process improvements
- Coach leaders and team members in problem-solving and operational best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- 7 years of manufacturing and production leadership experience
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational process optimization
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and customer demands
- Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office platforms
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
Preferred Background
- Manufacturing leadership within high-mix or customer-driven production environments
- Experience supporting engineering, maintenance, and operational improvement initiatives
- Lean or Continuous Improvement certifications are highly preferred
