Senior Accounting Manager POST NUMBER: 479246
Our client, a high-growth public company, is seeking an Interim Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and optimize the month-end close process and support scalable financial reporting.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 2 days/week in their office in Menlo Park, CA. This engagement is expected to last 6 months.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and internal reporting packages
- Maintain and enhance close calendars, workflows, and reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Support external audit processes and coordinate with auditors
- Partner with reporting teams to improve data flow and overall reporting accuracy
- Support internal control and compliance initiatives, including audit readiness
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline manual workflows and enhance efficiency
- Optimize accounting systems and reporting structures to support scalability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams
- Mentor and support team members while contributing to the development of a scalable accounting function
- Drive automation and continuous improvement across accounting operations
Requirements:
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to public company environments
- Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting operations
- Experience supporting audits and internal control frameworks
- Strong process improvement and systems optimization experience
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- CPA and/or public accounting background preferred
