About Our Client
We are seeking a CPA-designated Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and lead a small team responsible for transactional accounting activities. This is a 3-month contract and a hands-on role requiring ownership of the full accounting cycle, including month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, budgeting support, and process improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage two direct reports responsible for operational accounting functions while ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing leadership responsibilities with active involvement in the accounting function.

About the Opportunity

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and cash management.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Review work completed by two direct reports and provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and maintain strong internal controls.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances as required.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Support external accountants and auditors by coordinating audit requests and providing required documentation.
• Maintain and optimize accounting processes, workflows, and reporting procedures.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

• CPA designation required.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting responsibilities.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
• Strong hands-on experience with month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Proven ability to prepare accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
• Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks and/or Sage ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills, including working with large datasets and financial analysis.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
