Senior Desktop Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Type: 6 Month Contract
Salary: 50/hr
We're looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to join a team responsible for managing and supporting endpoint technology across a large enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys endpoint management, automation, systems administration, and improving the tools and processes that keep users productive and secure.
You'll play a key role in managing Windows endpoints, software deployment, device compliance, and modern endpoint management technologies while helping mentor other engineers on the team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and support enterprise endpoint platforms and administration tools
- Create, deploy, and maintain software packages and operating system deployments
- Administer Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM), Intune, and related endpoint management technologies
- Support device compliance, patch management, and endpoint security initiatives
- Build and maintain imaging and deployment task sequences
- Troubleshoot and resolve endpoint management issues across a large user base
- Partner with infrastructure, networking, and security teams on enterprise initiatives
- Evaluate and implement new endpoint management technologies and processes
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and scripting
- Assist with project planning, testing, upgrades, and platform enhancements
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other desktop engineers
- Support Active Directory and Group Policy administration
What We're Looking For
- 5 years of desktop engineering or enterprise desktop support experience
- 3 years of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) administration
- Strong experience with software packaging, application deployment, and operating system deployment
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot
- Strong understanding of Windows endpoint management in enterprise environments
- Experience administering Active Directory and Group Policy
- Solid troubleshooting skills across desktop, network, and endpoint technologies
- Ability to prioritize work and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Jamf administration experience
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- SQL knowledge
- Experience supporting hybrid or cloud-based endpoint environments
- Experience with enterprise security and compliance initiatives
