Our client offers clean power production. They are looking for a Senior Manager, Business Planning & Reporting who will be responsible for supporting the annual business planning process of the company as a whole. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to developing and maintaining corporate financial forecasts (short- and medium-term; up to seven years), including preparation of pro-forma financial statements, key operational/financial indicators, and executive-ready analysis and briefing materials, building, maintaining, and enhancing financial models (forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, performance drivers, and variance explanations) to support planning outputs, management reporting, and decision-making requirements, and leading corporate-level integration of planning and reporting activities, ensuring inputs across business units and corporate functions are coordinated, consistent, and aligned with the company’s planning calendar and governance requirements.

About the Opportunity

Develop and maintain corporate financial forecasts (short- and medium-term; up to seven years), including preparation of pro-forma financial statements, key operational/financial indicators, and executive-ready analysis and briefing materials.

Build, maintain, and enhance financial models (forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, performance drivers, and variance explanations) to support planning outputs, management reporting, and decision-making requirements.

Lead corporate-level integration of planning and reporting activities, ensuring inputs across business units and corporate functions are coordinated, consistent, and aligned with the company’s planning calendar and governance requirements.

Support the annual business planning process under the direction of the Director, Business & Financial Planning by:
-
Establishing and reinforcing consistent planning assumptions across the organization (e.g., accounting policies, organizational changes, payroll burden rates, generation and sales plans).

Developing and maintaining planning instructions, templates, and reference materials to guide business unit submissions.

Translating corporate-level assumption changes (e.g., interest/financing rates, price forecasts, accounting changes) into impacts on the corporate outlook and, where required, allocating impacts to business units.

Develop and provide corporate-level cost forecasts, including:

Interest expense, revalorization, and depreciation forecasts.

Related supporting schedules, documentation of assumptions, and analytical commentary.

Consolidate business unit plans and corporate function inputs into an integrated corporate forecast, including:

Validation and challenge of business unit inputs.

Identification of gaps, inconsistencies, or optimistic/pessimistic bias.

Preparation of materials to support senior management review and approvals.

Liaise with finance partners (e.g., Tax, Treasury, Accounting) to ensure the corporate forecast reflects a fully integrated financial view (e.g., borrowing and liquidity outlook, tax impacts, accounting treatments and policy changes).

Prepare monthly budgets and forecast updates for reporting purposes, including the ongoing integration of updated information and timely distribution of reports and briefing materials for governance forums (e.g., Operations Committee, Board, Shareholder).

Proactively identify and communicate emerging issues that may affect performance or outlook, ensuring management is informed early with quantified impacts, options, and recommended actions where appropriate.

Directly manage and develop a team of financial analysts, including work planning and allocation, coaching, performance feedback, and ensuring opportunities for skill development and professional growth.

Support management decision-making by integrating relevant operational and financial information, producing decision-quality analysis, and clearly communicating implications, sensitivities, risks, and trade-offs.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business unit and corporate function planning contacts to obtain inputs, resolve issues efficiently, and improve the quality and timeliness of planning and reporting outputs.

Maintain strong knowledge of the company’s strategies, plans, operations, markets, and results, and apply that context to forecasting, analysis, and performance measurement.

Coordinate the Long-Term Outlook (LTO) / 20-year outlook ensuring consistency with corporate strategy and planning guidance.

Lead the implementation of the company’s new FP&A tool, including requirements gathering, solution design, build/configuration, testing, and deployment to support corporate planning

About You
-
University Degree in Business Administration, Finance or, Accounting; and CPA, accounting designation is required.

Experience in the following industries highly preferred: Energy, Utilities and Mining in mid-to large public company entities.

7 years of experience in public company audits and external financial reporting processes.

3 years experience in public accounting firm audits.
Salary Range?
$140,000 - $160,000/year?
