Job Title: Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst
Location: Harrison, NJ 07029
Schedule: Onsite, 5 Days/Week (9:00 AM–5:00 PM; Fridays until 3:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $35-$42/hr
Duration: 3–6 Month Contract (Potential to Extend or Convert)
Position Overview
A manufacturing company is seeking a Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst to support cost accounting, COGS analysis, and profitability reporting. This role will focus on improving cost visibility, analyzing variances, and helping establish stronger cost control processes across the business.
Responsibilities

Analyze and monitor COGS, margins, and profitability.

Track estimated vs. actual costs across products, jobs, and customers.

Investigate cost variances and identify root causes.

Evaluate raw material, labor, freight, warehousing, and overhead costs.

Develop and improve cost tracking and reporting processes.

Partner with operations and finance teams to improve cost accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
-
3 years of cost accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing or product-based environment.

Strong understanding of COGS, inventory, and cost accounting principles.

Advanced Excel and analytical skills.

Experience identifying process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
