Job Title: Senior Payroll Analyst (Consulting)
Pay Rate: $40-$45/hour
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join their team on a consulting basis. This individual will be responsible for supporting end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance, and serving as a key resource for payroll-related reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employee populations, strong knowledge of payroll regulations, and experience utilizing Workday Payroll in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accurate and timely bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls using Workday Payroll
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Review payroll transactions, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues proactively
- Serve as a subject matter expert for employee payroll inquiries
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and validation procedures to maintain data integrity
- Partner with HR, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support payroll operations
- Generate payroll reports and provide analysis to support business decisions
- Assist with payroll system troubleshooting, testing, and enhancements
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficiency
- Support special projects and initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- 5 years of payroll experience
- Experience processing multi-state payroll for both hourly and salaried employee populations
- Hands-on Workday Payroll experience required
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
