Process Quality Engineer POST NUMBER: 481854
Location: Ft Lauderdale, FL
Compensation: $116-$129k/annually
Position Summary
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing process quality by ensuring production processes are efficient, capable, and compliant with quality standards. This individual partners closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, strengthen process controls, and promote a culture of quality throughout the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Process Quality
- Support quality performance across assigned production areas.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, control plans, and work instructions.
- Monitor key process metrics including yield, scrap, rework, and overall process capability.
- Ensure process controls are implemented and consistently followed.
- Lead investigations into quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions.
- Identify opportunities to prevent recurring quality issues through process improvements.
- Partner with production teams to resolve quality concerns in real time.
- Provide guidance and training on quality standards, inspection methods, and best practices.
- Conduct process audits and reinforce adherence to established procedures.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing variation, improving efficiency, and enhancing product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations on process optimization projects.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and applicable quality management systems.
- Maintain process documentation and support internal and external audits.
- Participate in quality initiatives that strengthen overall operational performance.
- Assist with quality planning and validation for new products and manufacturing processes.
- Support process readiness prior to production launch.
- Develop inspection plans and quality documentation for new operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Five or more years of quality engineering or manufacturing quality experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality improvement tools.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
- Ability to build relationships across production, engineering, and operations while thriving in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
