About the Role
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Carrier Sales Representative to join our client's growing transportation and logistics team. In this role, you will serve as the critical connection between customer freight and available transportation capacity, building strong carrier relationships while ensuring shipments move efficiently, on time, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
Freight & Capacity Matching
- Identify and secure carrier capacity to move customer freight.
- Match shipments with the right transportation providers based on timing, service requirements, and market conditions.
- Develop and maintain a network of trucking companies, owner-operators, dispatchers, and drivers.
Rate Negotiation
- Negotiate transportation rates with carriers to maximize profitability while maintaining service excellence.
- Monitor freight market trends and capacity conditions to make competitive pricing decisions.
- Secure reliable carrier partnerships to meet customer demands.
Carrier Relationship Management
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with carriers.
- Serve as a trusted business partner by providing exceptional communication and support.
- Identify opportunities to grow carrier engagement and repeat business.
Operational Execution
- Coordinate shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Monitor load progress and proactively address service issues.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with transportation requirements.
Problem Solving & Customer Support
- Respond quickly to transportation disruptions, delays, or service concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and carriers to resolve issues.
- Maintain consistent communication to ensure all parties remain informed throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, sales, or supply chain operations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Competitive, resilient, and self-motivated mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), CRM software, and Microsoft Office applications is a plus.
