Location: Birmingham, AL (Onsite)
Our client is hiring a Sr Property Accountant to join their growing team. The property accountant is responsible for accounting and financial reporting of a portfolio of real estate assets. This role manages month-end close, prepares financial statements, performs reconciliations, and partners with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- You will own the financial performance and reporting for an assigned portfolio of properties from transaction processing through financial statement delivery
- Perform month end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations with complete and audit-ready support documentation.
- Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of financial results, analysis of key variances, and timely reporting.
- Monitor cash activity and support cash flow management through coordination with operations and AP teams.
- Working alongside internal teams on tax-related questions tied to specific projects
Ideal Profile:
- 4 years of related experience, preferably in public accounting or real estate accounting.
- Accounting degree required
- Yardi Experience
- Someone who wants to grow into a well-rounded accounting professional
- CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not a must
