Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Department: Finance/Accounting

Compensation: $28-$33/hour 

Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Payable Manager for our client in the Tampa area. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the AP process and have a keen eye for identifying and implementing process improvements. Proven system experience is a plus, especially Excel. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the AP department including month-end closing of the AP.
  2. Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  3. Review and approve invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
  4. Continuously improve and implement effective processes and controls to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
  5. Reconcile AP transactions with monthly statements.
  6. Act as a point of contact between internal departments and external vendors.
  7. Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
  8. Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and maintain accurate records and control reports.
  9. Handle complex or escalated inquiries related to AP.
  10. Complete any other necessary ad hoc tasks

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. (preferred)
  2. 7 years of progressive AP experience
  3. Proven experience as an AP Manager or Supervisor.
  4. Strong understanding of the AP process.
  5. Experience with ERP systems especially Oracle.
  6. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  7. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally.
  8. Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  9. Strong organizational and leadership skills.
