Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager
Department: Finance/Accounting
Compensation: $28-$33/hour
Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Payable Manager for our client in the Tampa area. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the AP process and have a keen eye for identifying and implementing process improvements. Proven system experience is a plus, especially Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the AP department including month-end closing of the AP.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Review and approve invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
- Continuously improve and implement effective processes and controls to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
- Reconcile AP transactions with monthly statements.
- Act as a point of contact between internal departments and external vendors.
- Produce monthly reports and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and maintain accurate records and control reports.
- Handle complex or escalated inquiries related to AP.
- Complete any other necessary ad hoc tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. (preferred)
- 7 years of progressive AP experience
- Proven experience as an AP Manager or Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of the AP process.
- Experience with ERP systems especially Oracle.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
