SEC Reporting / Technical Accounting Consultant POST NUMBER: 484564
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SEC Reporting Consultant to provide immediate support for a public company's SEC reporting function during a period of increased workload. This will be a 6-8 week contract role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of external filings and internal reports, such as the 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and Earnings Release, ensuring financial statements and footnotes are presented in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of XBRL reporting on a quarterly basis.
- Prepare and tie-out Investor Relations presentations and other materials.
- Prepare stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718, including reconciliations for grants and forfeitures, as well as assisting in valuation of new grants.
- Prepare technical accounting research for new, significant or unusual transactions and document appropriate treatment in a memorandum.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Legal to ensure accurate financial information and disclosures.
- Provide relevant documentation to auditors and answer inquiries as necessary.
- Maintain controls and documentation that complies with SOX.
- Continuously improve processes and partner with other groups to create efficiencies in financial reporting.
- Support ad-hoc projects from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of work experience, including financial reporting experience. A mix of Big Four public accounting experience and industry experience is ideal.
- CPA license is highly preferred, but not required.
- Ability to quickly onboard and contribute immediately with little hand-holding.
- Experience with Workiva Wdesk and Oracle GL is a plus.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports.
