Contract Opportunity
W2 Only | No C2C ArrangementsWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing, project-driven organization on a contract basis. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and project accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience working in NetSuite, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely financial reporting
- Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies
- Assist with project accounting, job costing, and work-in-process reporting
- Support revenue recognition and contract accounting processes
- Prepare financial analyses and management reports
- Assist with audit requests and documentation preparation
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help strengthen internal controls
- Partner with operations and other departments to support accounting and reporting needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- NetSuite experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience with project accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition
- Background working in a high-volume or project-based business environment
- Familiarity with work-in-process (WIP) reporting
