About the Opportunity
- Routine servicing administration for Canadian commercial mortgage portfolios
- Entry of loans in servicing software in accordance with parameters outlined in loan documents
- Process various borrower transactions in the servicing system including renewals, extensions, amendments, assumptions, loan advances
- Review documents for loan covenants, reporting requirements, etc. for all loans in portfolio and entering details for tracking in the servicing system
- Handle mortgage related inquiries from borrowers and investors by monitoring personal and shared admin inboxes
- Monitor and request property insurance renewals to ensure adequate coverage is in place
- Monitor and remit property taxes in accordance with municipal due dates and collect proof of payment from borrowers responsible for paying their own taxes
- Reconcile and process monthly mortgage payment collections and remit payments to the investors in accordance with investor guidelines and contractual agreements
- Monitor active trust accounts and reconcile banking to the servicing system on a weekly and monthly basis
- Process reserve disbursements by analyzing supporting documentation and ensuring release requirements have been met as outlined in the loan documents
- Prepare borrower notices for maturing loans and interest rate step-ups
- Prepare mortgage discharge statements for maturing or prepaying loans
- Obtain, review and analyze financial information, including rent rolls, operating statements and financial/net worth statements
- Assist with the annual site inspection assignments
About You
- 3-5 years of related experience in mortgage funding or servicing/administration (commercial or residential)
- An energetic, self-starter who is disciplined, quality conscious, with rigorous attention to detail
- Ability to thrive and be self-motivated in an environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Flexible with an ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Committed to learning and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Basic accounting knowledge (reconciling receipts and debits)
Salary
$70 000 - $80 000/year
