Vaco is looking for a dedicated Senior Project Accountant who is passionate about solving complex problems and enjoys transforming financial data into actionable insights for team members. Key Responsibilities:
- Independently handle accounting functions, including invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, collections, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate client invoices based on contract terms.
- Process and pay consultant invoices per agreements, budgets, and pay-when-paid terms.
- Support project managers with setup and maintenance in project software.
- Serve as backup for payroll processing when needed.
- Review contracts and project plans to ensure proper fee structures.
- Track financial performance, comparing job-to-date costs against budgets and forecasting future labor.
- Maintain and share a weekly financial open items list with principals and project managers.
- Track financial task completion and provide ad-hoc reports for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2 years of experience in a professional services or public accounting firm.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
- A proactive and collaborative work ethic with a desire for continuous learning.
