Assistant Controller POST NUMBER: 423150
Our client is a vertically integrated company providing pipeline services including rehabilitation, maintenance, protection and design of infrastructure projects across Canada. They are looking for an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for leading the month-end close process and monthly financial package preparation for each of the 7 business units and providing analysis and insight into the results and communicating findings as required & assisting in the annual external audit, review and compilation engagements across the group.

- Management of accounts receivable and accounts payable activities to ensure proper revenue recognition and oversight of payments of lease agreements, rent, utilities and government and union remittances.
- Ensure cash funding requirements are met including setting up wires, electronic payments (ACH/EFT), internal transfers and other cash activities as required and updating daily cash flow reports.
- Lead the month-end close process and monthly financial package preparation for each business unit and provide analysis and insight into the results and communicating findings as required.
- Prepare key balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support other department members as needed.
- Assist in the annual external audit, review and compilation engagements across the group.
- Ensure full compliance with GAAP and ASPE policies and practices.
- Gatekeeper of the online banking platform and management of company credit cards.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of underlying processes and controls.
- Perform various ad hoc reports and projects as needed.
- CPA or in-progress (CFE passed)
- Full-Cycle Accounting Experience
- Construction or Manufacturing industry experience
$110,000 - $115,000/year
