Overview: Our client is seeking a motivated Plant Controller to lead the accounting operations of their manufacturing plant in Latrobe, PA. This is an excellent opportunity for a developing accounting leader with 7-10 years of  accounting experience within the manufacturing sector. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all accounting operations for the plant, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Conduct cost analysis and collaborate with operations teams to track production costs, identify variances, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Support the development of the plant’s financial budget and provide actionable insights to help achieve company objectives.
  • Serve as an accounting partner to plant management, offering data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the plant’s accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with corporate finance and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Monitor capital expenditures and evaluate return on investment (ROI) for key projects, working closely with operations teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, and experience in analyzing production costs and identifying opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of building relationships across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.
