They are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage and oversee key financial functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance in reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with GAAP.
- Job Costing: Oversee the job costing process by monitoring project budgets, expenses, and profitability. Track costs to ensure they align with project forecasts.
- Month-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by performing account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts, providing detailed analysis of project costs and financial performance.
- Construction Accounting: Ensure compliance with construction accounting standards, including percentage-of-completion (POC) and completed contract methods.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the AP/AR process, ensuring timely billing, collections, and payment processing.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to construction projects.
- Audit Support: Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMA certification will be prioritized when resumes are reviewed for this position
- 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a focus on construction or related industries
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles (POC, job costing, WIP schedules)
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
