Vaco is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in EDI to join one of our large Birmingham clients. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a strong attention to detail, this role may be for you!
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining effective relationships with vendors. A key aspect of this role is to oversee EDI transactions and integrate EDI processes with our accounts payable functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Oversee EDI transactions, including mapping, troubleshooting, and integration with accounting systems.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor records and update payment terms and account information as needed.
- Collaborate with the procurement and finance teams to improve AP processes and increase efficiency.
- Perform month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation for compliance purposes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting principles, and company policies.
