Full job description

  • Assist in the preparation, review, and organization of legal documents related to lending, compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Provide support to the General Counsel and Associate General Counsel on legal matters, including regulatory filings, contract management, and corporate policies.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather necessary information for legal matters.
  • Maintain corporate records, compliance documentation, and legal files.
  • Assist with the drafting of legal correspondence, agreements, and memos.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update legal documentation as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to the legal department, including maintaining the legal calendar and scheduling meetings.
  • Liaise with external counsel and regulatory agencies as required.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal, with a strong preference for those who have worked in the mortgage or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and compliance processes.
  • Experience working for a corporation, particularly within a legal department or supporting corporate governance.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with relevant laws such as RESPA, TILA, ECOA (preferred).
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with various departments and external stakeholders.
