Join our IT infrastructure and operations team as an AWS Systems Administrator, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring site reliability, configuring, administering, and supporting AWS environments within a mixed Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows server ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain production environments, ensuring system health and availability.
- Support platform infrastructure and applications to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Drive improvements in software reliability, quality, and time-to-market within a cloud environment.
- Measure and optimize system performance, implementing forward-looking solutions to enhance cloud infrastructure.
- Provide primary operational support for large, distributed software applications.
- Implement best practices, manage backups, and recommend AWS services and automation opportunities.
- Monitor AWS workloads, alerting the business of impacted services and resolutions.
- Collaborate with application and corporate infrastructure teams to align projects with business needs and timelines.
- Ensure secure environment implementation, generating necessary security logs.
Specific Duties
- Configure and support AWS services including EC2, S3, Auto Scaling, CloudFront, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Administer development, test, and production environments hosted on the cloud.
- Conduct analysis, recommend, and implement solutions for system requirements.
- Partner with application engineers to resolve issues and optimize performance.
- Ensure system uptime and performance meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Assist with capacity planning, AWS service deployments, and application rollouts.
- Manage virtual and physical cloud resources to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Develop a detailed understanding of application functionality and architecture.
- Design practical monitoring solutions and participate in cross-functional meetings to drive successful implementations.
- Maintain comprehensive internal documentation of all activity related to applications and environments.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, assisting with upgrades, installations, and configurations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
