Senior Accountant POST NUMBER: 429039

Type: Temp-to-Permanent
Pay Rate: $45-$55/hr
Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our real estate client on a temp-to-permanent basis. The role involves applying consistent accounting principles and procedures to record and analyze financial information, maintain the integrity of financial records, and provide transparent and accurate financial reports to senior management and the operations team. The ideal candidate will leverage technology to improve internal processes and ensure adherence to appropriate accounting control procedures.
Job Duties:
- Review and analyze accrual basis general ledger for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Book journal entries.
- Review adjustments to the tenant ledger.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review portfolio financial statements; analyze and write variance comments for significant financial variances.
- Assist with complex special projects, including preparing various analysis schedules and ad hoc requests.
- Provide accounting support to the property management team.
- Participate and present in periodic meetings with Property Managers and the accounting team.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
- 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in Real Estate or Property Management.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in accounting or finance.
- Ability to work independently with good decision-making skills.
- Capable of managing a high work volume.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across the organization; capable of training the Operations team in a classroom setting.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented, self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Experience with MRI and SAP preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
