Project Accountant POST NUMBER: 430043
We are looking for an experienced Project Accountant to join our team, specifically focused on construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of construction accounting practices, financial project management, and compliance requirements within the construction industry. This role will play a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting project managers with budget tracking, and providing insights that contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Financial Management: Track and manage project budgets, job costing, and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Billing & Cash Flow: Prepare and process project billings, monitor cash flow, and manage collections to keep projects on financial track.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate financial reports, analyze cost variances, and provide insights on project profitability and risks.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure financial documentation is organized and up-to-date, maintaining compliance with construction contracts, lien releases, and insurance requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, clients, and vendors to provide financial support and updates on project status.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction project accounting practices.
- Familiarity with construction billing, including AIA invoicing, progress billings, and retainage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with construction-specific software like Sage 300, Viewpoint, or Procore is preferred).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- Knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project budgeting in construction.
- Understanding of lien releases, bonding, and other industry-specific compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project teams, clients, and vendors.
