Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join one of our premier clients. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with local and federal regulations, and providing exceptional service to our employees. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring a strong understanding of payroll systems, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 600  employees across multiple states
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Process and reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Handle payroll audits and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and submit tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other required documentation.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations, implementing updates as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll.
  • Assist with system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, with multi-state or international payroll experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (Paychex, ADP, Workday]) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and tax compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
